Julius - Storyteller Sundays 4.26.15

Storyteller Sunday is a weekly campaign that highlights the people of the world and allows them to tell their story to all who will listen. Each story is unique to the individual(s) and carries a perspective that can only be seen through the eyes of experience. This week, meet:

Julius / Doctorate Student, Activist & Public Speaker

"Get fit, that's the start...". We met Julius on the campus of Howard University last weekend and as I told him on the spot, his position and demeanor exuded a sense of wisdom, wisdom that we had the pleasure of swallowing for an hour and a half. As Julius told us, "by get fit, I mean completely fit: physically, mentally and spiritually. We must be prepared." . With everything going on in America today, it's refreshing to hear from a positive figure in the community on the issues at hand. Julius recently spoke during a seminar held on 4.20.15 by The Book Bank Foundation in association with the Concerned Black Men Organization and he delivered a speak that would send chills through a polar bear. Know yourself, learn your history, read to strengthen the muscle that is your brain, physically exercise to keep your body just as strong, these are all things that Julius repeatedly drilled into our minds. "I wake up with a book. I go to sleep with a book. I'm always strengthening my mental capacity", Julius told us and it shows. His affinity for information, vast vocabulary and desire to understand concepts ridden with facts and exact statistics bleed through his words.  You can catch Julius chilling on Howard's campus in his office (on a bench in the Yard, surrounding by the people). Approach with an open mind and a willingness to engage in mind expanding conversation.
