Storytellers : Road Less Traveled

"It's our city and we need to continue to document it.... our struggle, our greatness." 

Stepping out into the world, there's no telling how or through whom the universe will speak to you. Each day, all we have is an understanding that as long as we are progressing and taking steps toward our goals, that we will be rewarded in the end. But as we all know, bigger the goal - the longer the path and the longer the path - the more thoughts of veering offmake themselves known. What I've noticed on this journey is that if I listen closely, the universe sends messengers to remind me of my path and why I'm doing what it is that I am; each message serving the purpose to ensure me that my steps are not in vain. 

I talked to this man while on the streetcar, and as he told me his story, I was again, reminded of why my movements are important. Hearing his story of his mother, watching the tears flow from his eyes as he expressed his truth.  The fact that her allowing distractions to veer her off path that eventually led to her death, inspired him to grind harder. The fact that his daughter was never able to grow up knowing her, made him strive to be better; trying every method & every way to make a better life, leaving no stone unturned. I'm not sure if he believed my words but I told him in that moment that he had just inspired me. The universe grounded me by allowing him to serve as a reminder, a reminder that this gift is not for me or my ego, but for my soul and the souls I come in contact with. Sharing this gift and using it to uplift others by sharing their stories & their experiences with others so that we can all learn. This is why Storytellers was created, to serve as the bridge between people, in a world that remains distant.
