Legs & Latte's - Maketto
If you've been around in the DMV area for awhile, then you've probably heard of the streetwear brand Durkl and if so, you probably heard of their game changing boutique plan to open a store and coffee shop combo spot. Well wait no more, Maketto is now open and it was honestly worth the wait.
For this installment of Legs & Latte's, it was only right that I brought along a designer to engage in conversation and enjoy the space. Valencia Jean is a designer and artist in her own right, so we sat down to discuss ideas and enjoy the ambience. The space is open and for lack of better word, it has a very airy and free feeling, like LA; open floorpans, minimalistic styling, white walls and a very inviting courtyard surrounded by green trees. The instruments they use to make their drinks are dope and just add to that experience even more, and they even bring your food to you. The staff is just as fun and welcoming as the space which leaves nothing to be desired from an experience aspect. By the end of our conversation, we didn't want to leave and will more than likely be back on a fairly consistent basis.
