#BAREwithMe No9 w/ Crysta-Anna
Consistency is a necessary trait for growth, learning how to master it is where you find success.
When I started the collection my goal was to see how far I can push the idea of simplicity while still staying true to the origin of the idea. I was worried that adding lights and a variety of angles would dilute the intent of the concept, so I vowed to limit myself as a result. As I go along, I’m realizing that the core of the idea lies in the breaking through the barrier of comfort zones, whether simplistically or not. That in itself is simplistic and classic, as BARE should be.
My focus since the SummerIs4Lovers campaign has been to narrow the energy in my work to 3 concepts: Freedom, Intimacy & Vulnerability. Each of these can give off the same singular vibe, which makes the creation process behind them fun and seamless. In this shoot with Crysta (@crysta.anne), I think we did a good job of keeping the idea consistent both throughout the concepts and the collection.
I met Crysta randomly at The Dojo during a shoot she had with the homie Jeremy (@jive.shot) and instantly the energy was mutual. Assisting with that shoot provided the perfect launching point for me & Crysta to create this beautiful set of images. All that was left was to push the levels of comfort further and further til they no longer existed.
