Forbidden Fruits

"What is for you, will be, for YOU."

The human psyche is temperamental to try and tame, even for the most masterful of minds, we all struggle with fighting desire. From Monks of the Himalayas, to Priests of Catholicism, to Pastors in Christianity, the minds that we hold at high regard from spiritual reverence, all have fallen short to the devil that is desire. As humans, our ability to justify our own individual bullshit, often gets in the way of our mastery of self. The discipline it takes to tell the mind 'No', is a virtue to be celebrated and cherished. But what is to be understood with these decisions is that discipline is always rewarded.

In this age of internet voyeurism, it is very easy to get distracted from your own personal journey and get caught up in the successes of others. The key is to keep a strong support system around yourself and to always remember what keeps you going, the passion for what you do. We are all different, with different journeys & different timelines to prosper. If you can learn to appreciate the climb, rather than comparing yourself to others, the spoils that come as a result will be that much greater.

Shout out to Temia Knight (@temiachxck) for these. We reconnected after a few years between our last shoot together. Follow her journey & support her work. We have to do a better job at supporting those that relentlessly follow their dreams. Society does a good enough job already trying to discourage the act in itself, let alone succeeding at it.
