Beau the Young Prince
So many people always ask if I only shoot women or why I don't shoot men, and the answer to that is that I do also shoot men but I have noticed something through both observation and experience. Shooting women comes with it's perks. Just like in any other form of sales or marketing, women are the best sellers because men (both creeps and admirers) love to look at women and women (both from an empowerment and comfort standpoint) love to look at other women. So due to posting my photos of women, I gain clients from both ends of the spectrum and this is something I have learned to embrace.
Finally linked up with Beau, it had been a long time since we first discussed collaborating (back in 2015 at Phone Homie's slab show), so this meeting was long overdue. The vibe we were going for is to show off the art & architecture of the city. Capturing spots that people don't often touch or get to but still remaining anonymous with the exact location. Beau, as an artist from the area, embodies a DMV artist. We have no singular sound but the substance and grit of our works tell the story of our area. We have to work harder because breaking into larger markets from this area has always been difficult, the reason why so meany leave to achieve success. I think being able to maneuver while you are here and still be able to expand your brand in other regions is a skill that attests a lot to the only outlet that people have successfully used so far to achieve this. It's for this reason that makes it so much more important to make it from the city. Until we have solidified a way, we cannot have an open flow of creative success. And that is just a small portion of a much larger conversation, a conversation that I will save for another post.
