It's the most wonderful time of the year, once again. Not because the fat, creepy white man slides down the chimney but because it's SAG SEASON! Yes, I am a Sagittarius - not that I know what that really means due to not keeping up with the zodiac but to a lot of people, I realize it means a lot, or a little, whichever side you fall on. Anyway, that little shameless plug doesn't matter as much as the lovely, young lady in the post header so back to that.

Just 1 day before my mini-sabbatical to the West Coast, 2 days prior to my birthday (another shameless plug) I met and had the opportunity to shoot with the beautiful soul while she was here in DC. Enter Kelly, the vibrant island gal from around the way, at least that what her vibe feels like. We linked and grabbed some solid shots, the jumpstart to our future creative collaborations.

I shot most of this set with my 85mm, 1.4f lens to allow me to make the rooms feel a bit bigger than they actually were, proper play in a tight space. Lately, I've found myself once again looking to establish my unique tonal style. I've used my lower light lenses to shoot at higher f stops while maintaining the depth of field that I love so much, while creating sharper contrasts and more vibrant bursts of color. All-in-all, I think our first test shoot was successful. It gave us room to feel out what each other were capable of but as you all know, I am not satisfied with just these. I hope to catch up with Kelly again, either in LA (you will soon see my infatuation with that place) or here at home.
